VDM’s First Case From His New Office: 18-Year-Old Trafficked Girl Shares a Heart-Breaking Story

VDM Intervenes in Disturbing Human Trafficking Case Involving an 18-Year-Old Girl

Popular social commentator and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has officially handled his first case from his newly opened office—even before its formal launch—and the story is already drawing massive attention online.

The case involves Aisha Frances Dumba, an 18-year-old girl who was allegedly trafficked into Nigeria under false promises of an acting career, only to later be forced into prostitution.

How the Trafficking Happened

According to Aisha’s account, she was living in Sierra Leone, where she helped her single mother survive by hawking cakes on the street. That was where she met a woman identified as Mrs. Amaka, who frequently bought from her and gradually gained her trust.

After meeting Aisha more than five times, the woman allegedly convinced her to travel with her, promising opportunities in acting and movie roles. Aisha said she was explicitly told not to inform her mother about the journey—a major red flag she now admits she ignored due to her age and desperation.

In April, Aisha left Sierra Leone alongside nine other girls. They traveled by road across several West African countries, including Mali and Ghana, before some of them eventually entered Nigeria.

From Promised Acting to Forced Prostitution

Aisha explained that it was only after reaching Delta State that she was told the truth:

there was no acting job—she was expected to engage in prostitution.

When she refused and asked to return home, she was allegedly threatened and told to pay money she didn’t have. With no other option, Aisha escaped in the middle of the night.

She described sleeping by the roadside before a kind stranger helped her find temporary shelter within a Muslim community in Asaba, from where she was assisted to travel to Abuja to seek help from her embassy.

Failed Help From Authorities

Sadly, Aisha’s ordeal didn’t end there.

She revealed that:

Her embassy claimed they had no funds to assist her. She wrote to Women Affairs and NAPTIP, but after six months, she received no response. Even when she found temporary help from individuals, some allegedly demanded sexual favors in exchange for assistance, including a man who reportedly sent her ₦100,000 after she refused to sleep with him.

Through it all, Aisha maintained that she has never slept with any man since arriving in Nigeria.

How She Found VDM’s Office

Despite not owning a smartphone, Aisha said she regularly watched VDM’s videos on YouTube using her uncle’s phone. When she learned VDM had opened an office, she searched for the location on Google, wrote the directions down carefully, and followed them until she arrived.

Her determination moved many, including VDM himself.

VDM’s Response and Warning to Young Girls

Deeply touched, VDM assured Aisha that he would personally ensure her safe return to her mother in Sierra Leone. Although he emphasized that her journey would be by road—since that was how she came—he made it clear that she would not be abandoned.

VDM also used the moment to issue a strong warning to young girls across Africa, stressing the dangers of trusting strangers who promise quick success abroad.

“You are very lucky they didn’t touch you,” he told her.

“This could have ended very differently.”

As a symbolic gesture and for safety reasons, VDM gifted Aisha a smartphone, ensuring she could stay connected once she returned home.

A Wake-Up Call for Society

This case has sparked renewed conversations about:

Human trafficking across African borders The failure of institutions meant to protect vulnerable victims The urgent need for awareness, accountability, and action

VDM himself admitted he had always believed trafficking mainly involved moving girls out of Nigeria—not into it—until this encounter.

Final Thoughts

Aisha’s story is painful, emotional, and deeply revealing. It highlights how poverty, desperation, and broken systems continue to put young girls at risk across the continent.

As VDM’s first case from his new office, it sets a powerful tone—one that blends accountability, compassion, and public awareness.

Let this be a lesson, not just a story.
