“I Intend to Retire from the Music Industry at the Peak of Applause,” Says Davido

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has unveiled his plan to step back from the music scene during the zenith of his popularity, well before his music fades into silence.

In a video interview shared on Instagram by prominent blogger and friend, Tunde Ednut, the acclaimed singer discussed his career aspirations. Expressing his foremost apprehension, Davido disclosed that he harbors a deep concern about reaching a stage where the fervor for his music subsides.

The artist, whose recent album ‘Timeless’ garnered significant attention, is resolute in departing from the limelight when the ovation for his work is at its most resounding.

He articulated, “My singular apprehension lies in the moment when people shed tears of joy and go ecstatic upon my stage appearance. Yet, there will come a juncture where the pace of my career will inevitably decelerate—a phase everyone experiences. My earnest wish is to preempt such a phase. I am committed to retiring before my essence turns less appealing.”
