Kingsley Okorie, one-half of the Nigerian highlife band The Cavemen, opened up about his career choice, revealing why he decided to pursue music professionally despite being a certified lawyer. He shared that music has always been his first love, and after completing Law school, he chose to do music professionally with his brother, Benjamin, instead of practicing as a lawyer. Benjamin, on the other hand, opted not to attend university and went to a music school to study music for two years. The two brothers eventually came together to form The Cavemen band. Kingsley recalled how he came up with the band’s name after a moment of reflection during law school when he felt like he was in a cave and a “caveman.” Their passion for music and their collaboration have become a source of support for their family.
