The organized labor insists on proceeding with its planned protest against the removal of petroleum subsidy despite President Tinubu’s intervention plans. Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), stated that the peaceful protest is scheduled to take place on Wednesday and is not expected to be hijacked by hoodlums. However, he stressed that security agencies should provide protection for the workers during the protest. The Chief of Staff to the President mentioned that the government is dealing with the oil cabals responsible for the current economic challenges. The labor leaders adjourned the meeting to listen to the President’s national broadcast on the matter.
