FG to Review Workers’ Salary in Response to Subsidy Removal, Assures Senate President

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced that the Federal Government would implement a salary review for workers to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal. He made this statement during a visit by Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and parliamentary members from the state to his office at the National Assembly.

Akpabio assured Nigerians that the Federal Government was aware of the difficulties resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy. He emphasized that the removal was a crucial step in combating corruption, as the previous subsidy regime was plagued by corruption.

According to Akpabio, Nigeria would have faced severe challenges in the coming years if the fuel subsidy had not been removed. He further stated that the government would be able to increase salaries and wages to support the workforce.

Governor Oyebanji commended the Senate President for his accomplishments in the past month. He expressed the support of the people and the government, pledging their readiness to collaborate with the legislature in advancing the country’s progress.
