Gov Sule’s cabinet formation not dependent on election tribunal outcome, says aide
Peter Ahemba, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state on Public Affairs, has denied rumors suggesting that Governor Sule is waiting for the outcome of the governorship election tribunal in Lafia before constituting his cabinet.
Ahemba clarified that the delay is to ensure that individuals with sound minds, proven integrity, and a readiness to work are appointed to help drive the development and progress of the state.
Responding to insinuations that Governor Sule deliberately postponed the appointment of Commissioners and Special Advisers pending the outcome of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Ahemba urged the public to disregard these unfounded rumors.
He stated that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been engaging in relentless propaganda, particularly regarding the ongoing proceedings of the Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal. The PDP is challenging the declaration of Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule of the ruling All Progressives Congress as the winner of the March 18th Governorship Election in the state.
Ahemba highlighted that the people of Nasarawa State, recognizing and appreciating the development achievements of the Engr. Sule administration over the past four years, have not been swayed by media propaganda and have changed tactics accordingly.
Regarding the allegation, Ahemba described it as a new distractive strategy and emphasized that the appointment of Commissioners and Special Advisers falls strictly within the Governor’s jurisdiction. He questioned why some people are overly concerned about the governor’s decision-making process.
