The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has reassured Nigerians that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State will soon return to the state to continue addressing the developmental needs of the people.
Omisore, who led national leaders on a solidarity visit to the state, dismissed concerns about the governor’s health. He assured the government and people of the state that there is no cause for alarm but urged them to pray for the governor’s well-being and recovery after sufficient rest.
During the visit, Omisore met with Acting Governor Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, State Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin, members of the State Working Committee, Secretary to the State Government Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff Chief Gbenga Ale, Members of the House of Assembly, Commissioners, and other top government officials.
He clarified that the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, did not at any time state that the governor was incapacitated. Omisore expressed disappointment with certain sections of the press for misrepresenting the chairman’s sincere wish and prayer for the governor’s quick recovery. He emphasized that the visit aimed to dispel any misconceptions and set the record straight, reiterating that they only prayed for Governor Akeredolu’s speedy recovery.
Omisore assured that the national secretariat was in full support of the state and would provide assistance whenever necessary.

He affirmed that the party remained united under the leadership of Governor Akeredolu and highlighted its significant contributions to the party’s victory in the last presidential election. Adetimehin emphasized that there was no room for internal conflicts within the party.
In response, Acting Governor Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa expressed gratitude to the visiting team for their visit and urged journalists to verify facts to avoid misleading and embarrassing the public.
