Naira Marley Discusses MohBad’s Struggles Before Passing

Two weeks after the passing of MohBad, a promising music talent previously associated with Marlian Records, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has shed light on his relationship with the late artist. In an interview with Nigerian author and social media influencer Reno Omokri, Naira Marley addressed his connection with MohBad and clarified that he was unaware of the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death.

This interview followed Naira Marley’s recent statement distancing himself and his record label from MohBad’s demise. He stressed that he had no involvement, either directly or indirectly, in MohBad’s passing and had been out of Nigeria since August 31st, spending time with his family.

Naira Marley refuted any responsibility for MohBad’s death, highlighting that MohBad had left Marlian Music in 2022, and they had not impeded his musical pursuits since then. He expressed shock and sorrow upon learning of MohBad’s passing while he was outside the country.

Addressing a viral video in which MohBad had previously held Naira Marley accountable for his potential demise, Naira Marley recounted the events surrounding the incident and mentioned that he had tried to assist MohBad in seeking help due to the singer’s evident struggles, despite MohBad’s departure from the music label.

He mentioned having recordings of conversations with MohBad during a distressing time when MohBad contemplated suicide. Naira Marley expressed his concern for MohBad’s well-being, urging him not to harm himself and trying to provide support and understanding during such difficult moments.

Additionally, he revealed a particular incident when MohBad locked himself in a room, prompting Naira Marley to intervene and communicate with MohBad’s parents to ensure he received the necessary care and support during this challenging period.
