Davido Makes History as First African Artiste to Perform at PFA Awards
Nigerian music sensation, Davido, created a remarkable milestone by delivering a live performance of his viral hit ‘Unavailable’ at the recent Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
The awards ceremony recognized exceptional players from the 2022/23 season, with notable victories for Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka in the major men’s categories.
Davido’s appearance on the award stage marked a significant achievement, as he became the inaugural African artiste to grace this event. The 50th-anniversary edition of the awards was celebrated during the ceremony.
Notably, during his post-season holiday, Manchester City’s Phil Foden was seen enjoying Davido’s ‘Unavailable’ while playing with the ball. Although Foden had previously secured two consecutive Young Player of the Year awards, he was absent from the gala this year and did not claim any awards.
