Disagreement Between Osun State Government and CRG Over Subsidy Palliative Delay
A disagreement has arisen between the Center for Responsive Governance (CRG) and the Osun State Government regarding the delay in the distribution of subsidy palliatives provided by the Federal Government. The state government has indicated that it is waiting for the full delivery of the palliative packages before embarking on distribution.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, stated that the state government has received a portion of the palliative package and is waiting for the outstanding items and a second batch before starting the distribution process. He emphasized that transparency and accountability will be maintained in the distribution of the foodstuffs to the citizens.
On the other hand, CRG’s Coordinator, Ayo Ologun, expressed the view that the current situation demands proactive action from the state government and that waiting for complete delivery is unnecessary. Ologun urged the state government to commence distribution as soon as the distribution plan is in place, in order to alleviate the suffering of the people and prevent potential agitation.
This disagreement highlights differing perspectives on the timing and approach to distributing essential resources to citizens in need.
