The veteran Nollywood actor revealed that he shed tears multiple times due to the pain he endured during his early years. He opened up about facing bullying from other children because of his diagnosis of stunted growth.
Reflecting on his past, Aki expressed deep gratitude to his mother for her unwavering support throughout those difficult times. He recounted a moment when he was nine and a half years old, recalling the doctor’s diagnosis of his stunted growth, which marked the beginning of his exposure to hurtful terms. He admitted to shedding tears on several occasions due to the relentless bullying he faced both at school and at home for not growing normally. He even confessed to contemplating ending his own life during those trying times.
In a lighter note, Aki humorously mentioned that he was thankful he didn’t grow up in Lagos, as the proximity to the Third Mainland Bridge could have led to different thoughts.
