“We, the 10th Senate, are committed to fulfilling our mandate through representation, lawmaking, and effective oversight functions,” stated Opeyemi Bamidele during a ’24 Hours Marathon Praise and Worship Service’ celebrating his 60th birthday at the Obafemi Awolowo Civic and Convention Centre in Ado Ekiti.

Bamidele also assured that the Senate would conduct thorough screenings of ministerial nominees presented by President Bola Tinubu to ensure their competency and capability in serving Nigeria and delivering dividends of democracy.

Furthermore, Bamidele emphasized that the Senate, led by Senator Godswill Akpabio, aims to place capable individuals in pivotal positions under Tinubu’s presidency to achieve their mandate. The removal of fuel subsidy was also discussed, with Bamidele stating that the federal government would introduce social investment programs to ease the suffering of the masses and civil servants.

Throughout the event, Bamidele expressed gratitude for reaching his 60th birthday and was described as a dependable and principled politician, committed to avoiding politics of bitterness. The Vicar at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Iyin Ekiti, assured that Nigerians would have a positive outcome despite the fuel subsidy removal under President Tinubu’s administration.
