Rasaq Salinsile, the former factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, has revealed why he declined his appointment as Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Board by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Governor Adeleke had initially announced Salinsile’s appointment as the Chairman of TESCOM, along with other appointments for non-statutory boards in the state. However, a few days later, the Governor announced another person, Tope Adeyemi, as the TESCOM chairman while issuing a statement announcing the names of Special Advisers.
Salinsile, who is an associate of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, stated that he declined the appointment for personal reasons. He did not provide further details on the specific reasons for his decision. As a result, he was not present at the inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday for the newly appointed chairmen and vice chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state.
