Enyimba and Remo Stars Await Opponents in CAF Draws

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has scheduled the draws for the 2023-2024 season of the inter-club cup competitions, namely the Champions League and Confederation Cup, to take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

A total of 54 clubs from 42 Member Associations will participate in the CAF Champions League, while the CAF Confederation Cup will feature 52 clubs representing 41 Member Associations.

Enyimba FC and Remo Stars, the winners and runners-up of the 2023 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Super-Six playoffs, respectively, will be Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League.

The FA Cup champions, Bendel Insurance, and Rivers United of Port Harcourt, who finished third in the playoffs, will be Nigeria’s representatives in the Confederation Cup.

The qualifying round for the Champions League is scheduled to take place between August 18 and 26, 2023. The main competition will run from November 24, 2023, to May 26, 2024.

For the Confederation Cup, the qualifying rounds will kick off between August 20 and October 1, 2023. The competition proper will take place from November 26, 2023, to May 17, 2024.

The draw for both competitions will be held at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, at 11 a.m. Nigerian time. This event will determine the group stages and fixtures for the upcoming tournaments, adding to the anticipation among football fans and clubs alike.
