Kwara Police successfully rescue 5 kidnapped individuals
In a positive development, the Kwara State Police Command announced the successful rescue of five individuals who were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Isanlu Isin, located in Isin Local Government Area of the state. The police released a statement confirming the rescue of the victims.
The combined efforts of the command’s tactical teams, the vigilante group, and the leadership of the female Commissioner of Police, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, reportedly led to the successful operation late Saturday night. The kidnapped victims were found in a forest near the area.
Ajayi Okasanmi, the police command’s spokesperson, stated in the released statement that local hunters, vigilantes, and the police collaborated to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
In a separate matter, the state police command clarified that two individuals who lost their lives during a thunderstorm in the Oro-Ago area of Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state were not kidnappers, as earlier speculated. The parents of the deceased individuals confirmed that they were actually herders.
