Governor Oyebanji Seeks Partnership with Ekiti Obas to Address Insecurity

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has reiterated his commitment to collaborating with traditional rulers to tackle the security challenges affecting the state.

The governor emphasized the crucial role of monarchs in the process of establishing peace and maintaining law and order in their respective domains. He urged them to fulfill their duties diligently in order to protect the lives of residents.

Speaking during the presentation of the staff and instrument of office to Onikoyi, Oba Akinwande Moses Ogundana, in Ikoyi Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area, Governor Oyebanji commended the traditional rulers for acting as stabilizers and peacemakers in their communities.

He stated, “I want to commend our royal fathers for their exceptional support and contributions towards ensuring security, peace, and stability in their domains, and for always being there to resolve challenging issues for the benefit of their communities.”

Governor Oyebanji acknowledged the unique position of traditional rulers and the responsibilities they bear. He acknowledged that they face various challenges and must shoulder significant responsibilities that can sometimes be burdensome.

By seeking the partnership of the obas, Governor Oyebanji aims to harness their influence and expertise in tackling insecurity and maintaining a peaceful environment in Ekiti State.
