Gunmen attacked the Sabon Gari community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing nine people and burning down six houses. The attack took place on Saturday night, according to Jerry Datim, a community leader and National President of the Global Society for Middle Belt Heritage. While nine dead bodies have been recovered so far, there are still people missing. Datim praised the swift response of the Operation Rainbow, a local security outfit, and called on the government to support them with necessary resources. Captain James Oya, the spokesperson of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) of the Nigerian Army, confirmed the incident but did not provide details on the number of casualties. The Commander of the Operation, Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, is leading troops to the scene of the attack.
