Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, the wife of the Governor of Ondo State, has decided to suspend all activities planned for her 70th birthday celebration. This decision comes in response to criticisms and concerns raised about the appropriateness of holding a celebration while her husband, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, is facing health challenges.

In a Twitter post, Mrs. Akeredolu announced the suspension of the birthday celebration, citing unforeseen circumstances beyond her control. However, she expressed her belief that as long as there is life, there will always be an opportunity for a celebration, emphasizing that “Owambe” (a Yoruba term for a lavish party) can happen at any time.

While apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the suspension, Mrs. Akeredolu assured her family and friends that she will be celebrated in style when the circumstances allow for it. She concluded her message by expressing gratitude for understanding and signing off as Arabinrin, also known as Ada Owere I.
