Two men, Ayomide Sambo and Johnson Adeleke, have been remanded by an Ondo State Chief Magistrate’s Court in Akure for allegedly killing a naval officer, Samson Akingbagbohun. The defendants were arrested by the state police command for allegedly killing the officer after an argument in Ido Ani, Ose Local Government Area of the state. They were charged with conspiracy and murder under sections 319, 316, and 342 of the Criminal Code. The police prosecutor requested the court to remand the defendants in custody, while the defense counsel sought bail for her clients. The Chief Magistrate remanded the two defendants and granted bail to a third defendant, Francis Shagari. The case has been adjourned until August 1, 2023, for mention.
