it was reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended Emefiele from office with immediate effect on Friday night.
And he was immediately directed to hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will be an acting CBN governor pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Unconfirmed reports came late on Friday that operatives of the Department of State Services had arrested the suspended CBN governor.
However, the spokesperson for the DSS, Peter Afunaya, reported to one of our correspondents that he could not verify the arrest.
